Fro-Yo Obsession

The weather is getting so nice out, and it finally feels like summer. This can only mean one thing for me: ice cream. So many new fro-yo places are popping up near me, and I can't help but crave it on a hot day.
My favorite places are Orange Leaf and Menchie's.
As for flavors, I love all of the fruity flavors like pina colada and raspberry. I like to top it off with fresh fruit. That makes it semi-healthy, right?
Mmmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Have you ever had fro-yo? What's your favorite place to get it?

Moroccan Theme

Whenever I go shopping lately, I always notice a variety of moroccan inspired clothes and design elements wherever I go. Let me just say that I am completely on board with this trend! In interior design, the moroccan element can mesh so well with just about every theme/trend. I'm in the process of redoing my bedroom, so I'm trying to add in some moroccan themed items to mix with my classic pieces.
I recently picked up this Moroccan lantern at my local Tuesday Morning for under $30.
(This isn't the exact lantern, but it's very similar.)
I might just leave this as an accent or decoration, or I was thinking about electrifying it and making it a hanging light.
I'm also eying this beautiful rug from Pier 1

I'm also seriously considering buying this gold pouf. How darling would it be for a low vanity?

As for clothes and accessories, I am loving this Tory Burch caftan. I find that Tory Burch always has the cutest moroccan inspired tunics and clothing!
These crocheted Toms are so intricate that they also have a moroccan vibe.

Gatsby

I am just so so so anxious for the movie "The Great Gatsby"! I really enjoyed reading the book, and I think F. Scott Fitzgerald is an amazing writer and author to say the least. The movie comes out on May 10th, which is just five short days!
One of the aspects of the movie that I'm most excited for is the actors. It's definitely no secret that Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the best looking male actors out there, and I think he has the perfect personality for playing Jay Gatsby. Gatsby's love interest in the story is Daisy Buchanan, played by Carey Mulligan. I think that Carey has such a whimsical feel to her, and I can't wait to see how she plays Daisy's role. With DiCaprio by her side, she's definitely one lucky girl.

The soundtrack is of course amazing as well. The whole thing isn't available on YouTube yet, but here is a sample. My favorite song by far is "Love is Blindness" by Jack White. It's just so intense and passionate, just like the actual story!
I know a lot of people are hosting Gatsby parties and such, and even though I won't be going to any or hosting one, here is what I would wear:

My favorite color is pink, so naturally I am in love with this pink fringe. This dress is pretty out-there, but could still be worn for modern day cocktail parties if you're daring enough.

The detailing in this dress is just exquisite. It has such glamour and elegance, I think I would die if I got the chance to wear this!

Are you excited for the movie? What did you think of the book?

My Favorite TV Shows

Even though my days are super busy and I feel like I never have enough time to do everything, I somehow always find time for TV. Hmm, isn't it funny how that happens? I watch a wide variety of shows, but these are some of my long-time favorites.

Modern Family
There's a good reason that this show has won so many awards. It's embarrassing how much I laugh while watching it sometimes. Although ever since Sarah Hyland's character "Haley" went to college, the show just hasn't been quite the same. She offered a lot of humor.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

This is definitely what you'd call trash TV, but it's my guilty pleasure. It's just so over the top ridiculous that it's hilarious. I am also a very nosy person, and I'll admit it. I really love taking a peek into these ladies luxurious closets, homes, and basically, lives. Kyle Richards is my favorite 90210 wife. She is refreshingly real (if you can call a Beverly Hills housewife real haha) and her daughter Portia is adorable.

Parks and Recreation
I loved Amy Poehler on Saturday Night Live, and I love her just as much in Parks and Recreation. It followed The Office, so I thought at first that it would be a copy of that, but I was definitely wrong. Parks and Rec has a completely different sense of humor than any other office-like show around. Plus, Aziz Ansari makes me crack up in just about every episode.

Barefoot Contessa
I warned you that I liked a WIDE variety of shows. I rarely watch food network, and Barefoot Contessa is the only show I will actually watch on there. Something about Ina Garten's voice is just so soothing and motherly. Overall, her recipes are completely mouth-watering.

Fashion Police
If you like hearing about what celebs are wearing, but not all their drama, then Fashion Police is definitely for you. I love how Joan Rivers is totally on trend and keeps up with celebrity fashion even at almost 80 years old. She is also very witty, kind of crude at times, yes, but overall crazy funny.

What are your favorite TV shows?

Palm Print Obsession

As Summer nears, I keep noticing palm tree prints popping up all over ads and in stores. Let me say that I am completely on board with this. Although I don't live in Florida, I love vacationing there, and my one of my favorite things is hands-down the palm trees. They are just so tropical, and put me in a serene mood. The print seems retro and cool. Here are some palm print pieces that I am loving for Summer:
I love how it's not your typical green palm print, and the pink adds a needed pop of color. You definitely wouldn't be losing your phone in the bottom of your tote anymore!

This sweater is perfect for those chilly Summer nights when you just need something quick and easy to throw on. It would look equally cute with denim cutoffs as it would with a simple skirt. With a price tag of $270, I definitely won't be getting it anytime soon, but a girl can dream right?

This tote is extremely retro. It reminds me of something that my grandmother would carry in the 50s, but I think that's why it appeals to me so much. How awesome would this look with a crisp white sundress?

How festive! If I had a sunroom, this would definitely be going in it.

My Dream Bag

I just love love love Céline bags. To say that I am obsessed would be an understatement. Seriously, would it be too much to ask for one of these to just magically appear in my closet one day? I think not. The winged style of the luggage tote is simply divine. If I had an extra $2,000 to spend, I would totally get one. But since I don't, I can only fantasize. Here are my top Céline picks:
                                                Luggage Pebbled Leather Tote

Camel Mini Luggage Tote

Blair Eadie, from Atlantic-Pacific, has not just one, but two Celine bags. I am extremely jealous.

Um, how adorable is her mini red tote?

Do you own a Celine bag? Which bag would you like to own?

Joss and Main

Have you ever been to the site Joss and Main? If not, then open a new tab and check it out right now, because this online shop is seriously amazing! They have countless styles of designer inspired furniture for fractions of designer prices. It's like the interior design equivalent of dailylook. Every few days, Joss and Main features different "events" which each cater to certain styles or pieces. For example, today they have an event going on thats called Poolside Soiree, where they feature the cutest pillows, table mats, drink dispensers, and everything else that you could possibly need for a summer party all at very reasonable prices. If you're into the farmhouse style, they've got that. If you're looking for chic and stylish lighting fixtures, Joss and Main has got you covered. Seriously, I could spend all day perusing this site!
If I had my dream apartment and my dream paycheck, here's what I would buy:
Aden Wool Rug- I love the Moroccan inspired print. This would look great in a bedroom.

Sarah Table Lamp- This would look adorable on my nightstand. I love the shabby-chic look.

Syros Wingback Chair- This is from their Destination: Santorini collection. I love the modern chevron mixed with the classic winged style.

Teak Tapas Dining Set- I could definitely picture sitting here poolside on a hot Summer day. The triangle seats are so unique, you definitely don't see pieces like that just anywhere.

It's definitely worth checking out Joss and Main. Who knows, you might just find that one special piece that you've always been looking for!

Have you ever been on jossandmain.com before? What's your favorite piece?

Stay peachy!

P.S. I am not sponsored by Joss and Main in any way, I'm just a big fan of their website and their products!

What to Wear: Baseball Games

The warm pretzels churning at the concession stands, the muffled voice of the announcers over the loudspeaker, the  uniformness of the stands as they show their pride for their teams colors: baseball season is officially here. This brings up a good question of many girls. What to wear? No matter what, you want to represent your team's colors, but many people struggle with how to look equally as cute as they are spirited. The weather is also an annoying factor, since spring is such an unpredictable season. It could be raining, blazing hot, windy, or even snowing if you live in northern states.
I'll show you three different outfits to look polished and spirited at your next baseball game.

1. Bring on the Sunshine!

1. Baseball Hat
To avoid those embarrassing hairline sunburns, stay shielded with a neutral, light-colored baseball cap that won't attract the sun. This khaki one from Madewell is super boyish and will give a carefree feel to the outfit.
2. Sunscreen
When the sun is beating down on your skin for hours on end, you'll want some coverage. Clarins sunscreen provides ample coverage without getting oily!
3. Baseball Tee
This crop top by Victoria's Secret is easy-breezy and won't leave you sweaty.
4. Denim Shorts
Pick a pair that's comfortable and lightweight. I chose this denim pair by J.Crew because they have amazing quality denim.
5. Flip-Flops
Sporting events are not the time to bring out the high-end gladiator sandals, or white ballet flats. Instead, opt for a pair of cheaper flip-flops so you won't care if they get ruined, and that will keep your feet cool. These flip-flops from Banana Republic are a great quality and a great price.
6. Sunglasses
Classic aviators are the way to go. Ray-Bans are cute, but will still get the job done.
7. Throw everything in a light weight carry-all tote. Nothing is worse than having to lug around a heavy purse at a baseball game. Just bring the essentials here.
8. Water, water, and more water! The most important thing to remember when staying out in the sun is to keep hydrated! I love how Bobble water bottles have built-in filters so that no matter where you get your water from, you know that its clean.

2. Rain, Rain, Go Away!
1. Earrings
Add some simple diamond studs to jazz up and feminize a masculine outfit! These studs from Juicy Couture are basic yet fancy, and could be used for any occasion
2. Waterproof Mascara
Trust me, you do NOT want those raccoon eyes when you get caught in the rain. Waterproof makeup is definitely a good idea. Bonus: This Clinique mascara will protect you from the rain and give you voluminous lashes at the same time!
3. Rain boots
I love love love Hunter rain boots! They are on the pricy side, but well worth the investment. Tall boots will definitely protect you from both puddles, and soggy garbage in the stands. gross.
4. Basic Denim
Comfort is key while you'll be sitting down for a few hours, so slip on your favorite pair of jeans and hit the road. I chose these straight leg jeans by J.Crew because they seem comfortable, and the distressed holes give them a relaxed vibe.
5. Baseball Tee
If you are expecting showers, a 70 degree day can easily jump down into the 50's. Choose a long sleeve tee just to be safe.
6. Umbrella
An umbrella is a no-brainer for rainy days. This bubble umbrella from Target is absolutely adorable, and with a price tag under $20, you can't beat it!

3. Baby it's Cold Outside!
1. Jacket
A simple military jacket is perfect for those cooler early-in-the-season days. Bonus if it's in your team's colors!
2. Blanket
Those stands can get pretty chilly, so it's always a good idea to bring a blanket to sit on or even wrap around you.
3. Jeans
Simple dark wash jeans will keep your legs warm. If it's really cold outside, you could even layer some leggings underneath!
4. Wool Socks
I don't know about you, but my toes ALWAYS get cold during the cooler months. Wool socks can assure you that extra bit of warmth. How cute is that leopard print?
5. Gloves
Kate Spade does it again. These gloves are simply adorable! Even if you don't live in the city, they jazz up any cool-weather outfit.
6. Boots
Sorel makes great quality boots, and these ankle boots are perfect for protecting your feet from snow, wind, and cold.

Welcome to "Just Peachy"

Hello,
Wow, this feels unreal. I can't believe I am actually starting a blog!  After reading so many successful blogs such as College Prepster, Atlantic Pacific, Annie's Eats, and Cap Hill Style (as well as many many more!), I decided to start a blog of my own. I really wanted to and needed to let my creative outlet flow, and this blog will be the way to accomplish that. One can only write so many boring research and closed-reading papers before their brain explodes! I will be blogging about all kinds of things, including fashion, design, art, travel, food, school, and just well, life. I chose the name "Just Peachy" for a few reasons, one being that I just love peaches! There is no other feeling like biting into a ripe, juicy, warm peach on a hot summer day. I also say the word "peachy" a lot, so it just seemed fitting.
I hope that you will give my blog a chance, and look forward to daily posts!
Stay Peachy,
Jennifer
